Not too many completed quilts in the past six months since my last post but here are two that I've photographed.

Hourglass

Just finished binding this quilt for my mother before winter is over.  There are about 300 blocks and they shrunk a bit after washing.  I measured it to be extra long but perhaps not wide enough.  Another lesson learnt there.  Judi Schon did a fabulous job on the long-arm quilting and created a lot of swirling texture which was the look I was after on this geometric block.

Hexagon

I've always admired the hexagon quilt block but dread doing Y seams.  The blocks are large and all the fabric comes from my current stash.  The quilt top came together quickly because no tricky piecing was required.   Susan Trendall did the long-arm quilting with an Asian flower design.  I wish the photo was a better close-up to showcase the design.
